How can my scar be improved?
Posted October 10, 2011 2:20 PM in Scar Revision

Question

Question:
I was bitten by a dog on my cheek when I was a kid. The scar bothers me and I'm very self conscious about it. It never healed particularly well and is now thinner but a raised long line that's whiter than the rest of my skin. Is there anything that can be done to improve it?

Answer:
Scar revision, either surgically or with the laser, may need to be performed. Patients need to come for evaluation. I prefer fractional laser treatments for these types of scars.
