Is 35 too young for a facelift?
Posted October 03, 2011 5:15 PM in Facelift

Question

Question:
I'm a 35-year-old female and I smoke. My friends and family think I definitely need a facelift because my skin is already sagging. Am I too young to have a facelift? When would I be eligible?

Answer:
There is no right answer as to age with facelift, especially in younger patients who've lost a lot of weight or with genetic conditions or poor skin elasticity.  However, for most 35 year olds we have non-surgical devices that work very well for rejuvenating a lax neck or aging skin.

How long does a facelift take to heal?
Posted September 28, 2011 10:40 AM in Facelift

Question

Question:
After almost a year of investigating different cosmetic procedures, I finally decided I’d like to get a facelift. I’m planning it during my two week vacation from work. I’m also not going to tell anyone except my best friend that I’m getting it done. Will the bruising be completely gone by two weeks? Should I take another week’s vacation so that no one could tell I’ve had a facelift?

Answer:
Facelift healing often varies from patient to patient and from surgeon to surgeon. With modern techniques and improved hemostasis  and careful dissection, bruising can really be minimized and usually takes up to two weeks. Bruising can be camouflaged with makeup.
