Background and Education

Dr. Lukash completed both his undergraduate and medical education at Tulane University before pursuing extensive surgical training at some of the nation’s most respected institutions. His postgraduate training includes programs at Emory University, the State University of New York, and Harvard University. During his early academic career, he served as an Instructor in Surgery at Massachusetts General Hospital and as an Assistant in Surgery at Shriners Hospital for Children in Boston.

Dr. Lukash is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and the American Board of Surgery. He is also a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons and the American Academy of Pediatrics, distinctions that reflect his commitment to the highest level of surgical training and professional integrity.

A Leader in Plastic Surgery

Over the course of his career, Dr. Lukash has played an active role in advancing the field of plastic surgery. He is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, the American Association of Plastic Surgeons, and the American Association of Pediatric Plastic Surgery.

He also served as president of the New York Regional Society of Plastic Surgery and founded its publication, The Excelsior, where he continues to serve as Editor-in-Chief Emeritus.

Innovation and Surgical Advancement

Dr. Lukash has long been recognized for his contributions to innovation within the specialty. He holds a patent for a microsurgical monitoring device designed to help improve surgical outcomes and enhance patient safety.

His work has also focused on advancing treatment for patients with facial deformities and complex reconstructive needs. By combining technical precision with thoughtful planning, he has helped many patients achieve meaningful improvements in both appearance and quality of life.

Author and Nationally Recognized Voice

Dr. Lukash has contributed extensively to discussions surrounding body image and self-esteem, particularly among adolescents and teenagers. He is the author of three books on these topics and has written chapters for numerous medical textbooks.

His expertise has led to interviews and features in both national and international media, where he has shared his perspective on plastic surgery, patient confidence, and evolving techniques within the field.

Serving the South Florida Community

After more than 44 years of practice in the New York metropolitan area, Dr. Lukash is pleased to bring his experience and perspective to patients in South Florida. As part of the Sanctuary Plastic Surgery team, he continues to focus on personalized care and thoughtful surgical planning to help each patient achieve their aesthetic goals.

Outside of his medical practice, Dr. Lukash pursues several creative interests. He studies classical piano, paints portraiture in oil, and is the author of the novel The Hypocritical Oath.
