How Does Genius RF Microneedling Work?
At Sanctuary Plastic Surgery we use two devices for radiofrequency (RF) microneedling, the Lutronic Genius and the Inmode Morpheus8. Both devices have insulated needles that are used to deliver radiofrequency energy at precise depths of the skin or subcutaneous tissue. What Is the Treatment Experience?
Photos are taken and makeup is removed. Your skin will be numbed with a topical anesthetic cream or with nerve blocks depending upon depths and intensity of treatment. Cold air is additionally used for an anesthetic and ProNox nitrous oxide is also given if desired. The treatments are done with multiple passes at varying depths which are determined by skin type and type of problem – such as acne scars or wrinkles. There are different needle configurations for face or body treatments. A typical facial treatment is about 30 to 40 minutes. All skin colors can be treated. There is a minimal amount of downtime – about 24 hours with minimal swelling. Normal activities including exercise or work may be resumed the next day. More aggressive treatments may leave the face red for a few days.
What Is the Recovery Time After Genius RF Microneedling?
You can expect a short recovery time after Genius RF microneedling. Your skin will initially appear reddened, which fades way in about 24-48 hours. You should not experience any bruising or skin peeling – the treatment is exceptionally gentle, with very few side effects.
When Do the Results Appear?
You will need a little patience to see the full results of your Genius RF microneedling, but the first results appear in about one week. The natural increase in collagen production occurs over time, continuing for three months after your treatment, with your skin continuing to improve in tone, quality, and firmness. Patients usually require more then one treatment for optimal results.
