Due to age, genetics, childbearing, nursing, weight loss or gain, and gravity, you may find that your breasts have lost the “perky” look they had in the past. The breast lift—also known as a mastopexy—is a surgery that is performed to lift the breasts to a more youthful, attractive position so they look plump, raised, and firm.
Lift & Rejuvenate Your Breasts
A breast lift in Boca Raton is the ideal surgical remedy for droopy, sagging breasts, but it can also reduce the size of the areola as well. If your breasts are lacking in volume or firmness, inserting either breast implant or fat during the breast lift procedure can also help them achieve a perkier, more youthful appearance. During your complimentary consultation, our surgeons will learn about your lifestyle, body type, and cosmetic goals, and will use their wide range of procedural experience to develop a bespoke surgical plan that's tailored specifically to you and your goals. Good Candidates for Breast Lift
If you are physically healthy, psychologically stable, and fully understand the surgery, recovery, and results, you are likely a good candidate for a breast lift (mastopexy) in Boca Raton. The best results are achieved in women with smaller, sagging breasts, and while any breasts can be lifted, the results might not be as long-lasting with very large, heavy breasts. You may have breast tissue removed during a breast lift (basically it’s a breast reduction) if you wish to have smaller breasts. If you have lost volume from pregnancy or weight loss an implant may be placed at the same time for those women with some extra fat who don’t wish to have a breast implant, fat grafting may be used to help create a fuller breast
When Should I Have a Breast Lift?
If you plan to have more children, pregnancy and nursing can “undo” the breast lift results. While most likely you can still nurse a baby after a breast lift, both pregnancy and nursing are likely to stretch the breast tissue again, leaving you with the same problem. For that reason, we advise you to wait until you have finished having children before having a breast lift in West Palm Beach at Sanctuary Plastic Surgery.
A breast lift will leave permanent scars, although these are hidden within a bra or bathing suit. Rarely it can result in unevenly positioned nipples or some loss of sensation in the nipples or breasts. We offer complimentary laser treatments of all breast scars to improve the scars
What to Expect During Breast Lift Recovery?
Breast lift surgery is done on an outpatient basis and you should arrange for someone to drive you home after your surgery and stay with you overnight. There will be some pain and swelling for a couple of days after surgery, and you will have prescription pain medication to help you stay comfortable in the early stages of healing. Soreness and swelling may last up to several weeks.
You will be seen the next day in the office and the surgical wrap removed. You will be placed in a soft bra (we provide). After you return you may shower and replace the bra provided. You will be seen a few days later for a follow-up to assess healing Wear the bra provided until our staff says otherwise. Don’t buy new bras until the swelling subsides, which may be a few weeks after surgery.
Here is a general timeline of breast lift recovery:
- One week before you can return to work (depending on your job)
- May Sooner if implants are not placed
- Four days or so to resume driving
- You may resume brisk walking 48 hours after surgery and more intense cardio 1-2 weeks after surgery. Limited weight lifting may be started 1 week after surgery. No CrossFit, push-ups, or major chest work for 6 weeks after surgery
- Golf and tennis may be resumed about 2-4 weeks after surgery
- You can wear underwire bras after being cleared by our staff
