Breast augmentation with implants is the second most popular surgery for women in America. Though rare, breast augmentation can result in problems that require a revision, or you may be unsatisfied with your outcome. Dr. Jason Pozner is one of the country’s premier breast augmentation revision surgeons. He relishes the challenge of the procedure and takes pride in helping women achieve the body they’ve always wanted. Click below to learn more.Read more about this procedure
Breast augmentation with breast implants is a cosmetic surgical procedure designed to either enlarge the breasts or to create symmetry if one breast is noticeably different in size and shape from the other breast. At the time of this writing, all breast implants are made of a silicone outer shell and are filled with either saline or silicone. They come in a broad variety of sizes and shapes to fit everybody. If breasts are uneven in size, a different size of implant in each breast can easily be accomplished. Breast augmentation is a safe procedure that results in long-lasting, realistically larger breasts.
A breast lift (technically called a mastopexy) is a cosmetic surgery procedure that will lift your breasts to a more attractive position. Due to age, genetics, child-bearing, nursing, weight loss or gain, and gravity, you may find that your breasts aren’t as “perky” as they once were (or perhaps never were!). A breast lift is an excellent remedy for droopy, sagging breasts. It can also reduce the size of the areola, the darker skin surrounding your nipples. If your breasts lack volume or firmness, inserting either a saline or silicone implant can be done during the breast lift procedure, resulting in perkier, firm breasts. The implants especially help the upper portion (called upper pole).
A breast reduction is a cosmetic surgery procedure that will reduce the size of your breasts. If you have large, pendulous breasts and routinely experience shoulder or back pain or have indentations in your shoulders from your bra straps, a breast reduction can be just the thing to help you. The procedure removes fat, glandular tissue and skin from the breasts, resulting in breasts that are lighter, smaller and firmer. It can also reduce the size of the areola, the darker skin surrounding the nipple.
Gynecomastia is a medical term that comes from the Greek and literally means “women-like breasts”. Though few people talk about it, gynecomastia is fairly common, affecting an estimated 40-60% of men. It can affect one breast or both and though certain drugs and medical problems are linked to gynecomastia, there is no known cause in the majority of cases. For men who are self-conscious about their breasts, male breast reduction surgery can help. The procedure removes fat and glandular tissue from the breasts and in extreme cases, excess skin may also be removed. The result is a chest that is flatter, firmer and better contoured.
Sought by women the world over, breast augmentation has become the most popular plastic surgery procedure performed today. While breast augmentation surgeries have produced many happy, satisfied patients, some women have not had their aesthetic goals met through prior breast augmentation surgery.
