I had breast implant surgery about six months ago. I now have really awful rippling on my breast skin. Is there any chance this will clear up on its own or how can it be fixed?
There is a chance that over time there may be some improvement of this as the capsule forms, however it is unlikely. If the implant is saline, one fix is to switch to a silicone implant. If it is a silicone implant and over the muscle, many times converting this implant to an under the muscle position will improve the rippling. As a last resort, we would use something called Acellular Dermal Matrix. My preference is Strattice which is from a porcine source and this is placed between the rippling area and the implant to improve the rippling.
